I get a kick out of watching the glow of the candles (oil wicks don't work well for me) and imagining all of the mushy phrases, like "a single candle can light up the world."

The location of the Health fund office, right down the block from me in central Safed, is convenient enough that I can leave my house five minutes before my appointment (to which I walk).

First time, last week, I headed to Tel Aviv to visit my daughter on my way to an evening wedding in Jerusalem. First of all, they were off school, which is always a treat. Secondly, it was a lot of fun for them to head outside to the snow. No complaints, especially since I don't have to move from the house all Shabbat, so if its going to rain, Shabbat is the best day.
